Beliefs & Story

Who We Are

Redeemer is a church where real people can meet Jesus. Anyone and everyone is invited. No matter your past or present, we are a church that is full of grace and truth. We sing songs to worship our Lord, we preach the Word of God from the Bible, and we love one another.

Above all, we are a church that wants to worship Christ, love each other, and enjoy the grace of God together. We hope we can be a family where you can belong.

OUR CORE VALUES

Gospel-Centered

Who we are and what we do begins and ends with Jesus.

We are Family

In a lonely world, we belong to each other and nobody walks alone.

Missional Urgency

We are serious about trying to reach people.

All Hands on Deck

We are a battleship, not a cruise ship so everyone is in it together in our Kingdom work.

Faithful Generosity

We joyfully give as God has given to us.

For the City

We seek God's will for the city we have been sent to, pushing back the darkness.

Purposeful Ministry Simplicity

We want to say "no" to good things so we can say "yes" to the best things that God has in store for us.

Jason Hatch

Lead Pastor

Jason is the lead pastor at Redeemer Midland. He started following Christ as a six-year-old boy. He was born and raised on a farm west of Amarillo, Texas. He was a pre-med major at Amarillo College when God, incredibly clearly, called him to life as a pastor. Jason immediately transferred to Dallas Baptist University to study the Bible and meet his incredible wife, Hannah. They have three beautiful, fun, creative, and very energetic kids: Judah, Paisley, and Hudson. Jason has served as a youth pastor at an inner-city church, the director of Baptist Student Ministries at DBU, and the College & Men’s Pastor at First Baptist Irving. Jason graduated from DBU in 2004 with a BA in Biblical studies, 2006 with an MA in higher education, and 2007 with an MBA in Business Management.

Our Belief in the Gospel

The gospel is the central message of Christianity. It is the good news of God sending Jesus to live the perfect life we should have lived, die a sacrificial death in our place, and conquer death through His victorious resurrection. In the gospel we see the glory of God as He reveals His passion to redeem lost sinners and bring them from death to life in Christ.

The Scriptures make it clear that we become followers of Jesus by Grace Alone, because in the gospel God freely offers His salvation to us as a gift. Moreover, we receive the finished work of Jesus in our place by Faith Alone, because salvation is not something we can obtain through our good (even religious) efforts. Finally, the gospel tells us that Christ Alone is our Savior, because no one else has dealt with the problem of our sin and provided a way of reconciliation between us and God.

As a Gospel-Centered, Missional Family this message is central, essential, and foundational to everything we believe and do at Redeemer.

Our Beliefs on Baptism

"We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life." - Romans 6:4
